The Pierce City Eagles hosted the Greenfield Wildcats on Tuesday. The Wildcats came out strong, bosting a 13 point first quarter lead. The second half was much closer as the Eagles trailed by 14 at half. Pierce City then was able to cut the lead to 4 in the the third quarter, but then a very quiet offensive 4th quarter, where the Eagles ended up losing 63-44.
After the game junior Dallas Kleiboeker said, “Turnovers came back to haunt us. When we went on our run to cut the lead to four, we were taking care of the ball and playing good defense. Then we got sloppy in the fourth and that’s what the difference was.”
Pierce City has a hectic stretch of games coming up, playing Lockwood at home on Thursday, then Saturday at SBU against Marionville, and the Eagles play on Super Bowl Sunday at Oklahoma City agianst rival, Sarcoxie. The game on Saturday will be played at 1:30 and the game at Oklahoma City is scheduled to be played around 6:30.
