Head Coach B.J. Curry sent out a baseball update yesterday. He said, “Hunter Hatfield pitched and went the distance. He scattered 10 hits and 4 BB’s while striking out 6. Only 2 of the runs he allowed were earned. Hunter did a great job executing pitches in tough situations and was at his best when his best was needed. Defensively we made a few mistakes but did a good job of playing through them.”

Curry continued to say, “Offensively we managed 7 hits, 5 BB’s and took advantage of 4 Purdy errors. Mason Moreland and Hunter Tindell each had RBI doubles as part of a 4 run 4th inning. That really got us going after Purdy jumped out to an early lead. Bill Ashley also had a good day reaching base safely in 3 of his 4 plate appearances. Hatfield doubled and scored a run and Donell Kleiboeker had an RBI single that tied the game at 5 in the 5th. In the 7th Donell stole 2nd with 2 outs. Purdy then elected to intentionally walk Devin Cox. Gage Brown stepped in and proceeded to force a walk-off strikeout. Gage swung at strike 3 in the dirt and advanced to first base when the pitch got away from the catcher. The catcher elected to throw to 1st base and Donell Kleiboeker scored all the way from 2nd base for the winning run.”

The Eagles were 4-2 with the win. Thank you to everyone who came to support your Eagle’s baseball team!
